Examining natural forms and simplifying them into generalizing them into trellis designs is no easy task. To break down the construction of one leaf it the time to decipher the natural form's function. Thus, my exploration with trellis forms is an attempt to construct plant habits like nature would to capture its fluidity.

RE-PURPOSED SEATING

Observing antique components at flea markets, scrapyards and tractor shows has always fascinated me. These parts were built to last and possess forms with real eloquence. The pity of the matter is, too few antiques are given the opportunity of preservation because they are outdated from their constructed purpose. The goal of my exploration into the realm of crafting chairs was to bring new life to old agricultural and industrial relics. Thus, establishing a connection to the past for new users.

Home Decor: Light Cages

When contracted to design and construct display racks for The Steel Beam, in Bethlehem PA, the use of line work become all the more impressed upon me. Structural design should be clean and transparent, not messy and obstructive. Nice geometric forms that are structurally strong require a lot of time to set up and connect. In my progression of experimenting with cages for lights I saw how efficient and ascetically attractive it is to use one piece of steel with no cuts to make a sturdy frame.
